In the later phase, during the restructuring of the University, it merge in faculty of Science and Environment as a separate department and renamed as Energy & Environment in 2008.

Department is conducting a Two year M.Sc. course in Environmental Science, which is designed to meet the national and international requirements of Environmental Monitoring, Management, EIA, Hazards and Risk assessment. This course bridges the gap between Science & Technology and provide extensive training to the students for getting jobs in Universities, Colleges, Industries, Ministries, Judiciary, Research organizations, Multinational companies, Administration and NGO’s etc.
