Functions

(a) Acquisition division

  • Acquisition of all types of documents excluding serials and CD-ROM databases;
  • Allocation of funds to the Depts./Centres as per Library committee/V.C.
  • Liaison with Depts/Centres on procurement and expenditure on books.
  •  Maintenance of Accession, Expenditure and other records.

(b) Processing Division

The processing of the books, and other documents involve various kinds of activities that are undertaken to make the documents for use by the readers. Even though processing of documents is not a centre stage activity, it is definitely one of the most important library functions that contribute to proper storage and retrieval of information in a library. While undertaking processing of books, most priority is accorded to the Text-Books, Book-Bank and other books that are required by the Faculty for the course work.

  • Promoting knowledge dissemination and lifelong learning.

  • Supporting rural studies and Gandhian philosophy.

· Extensive Book Collection – Thousands of books covering various disciplines, including rural development, agriculture, and Gandhian studies.

· Journals and Periodicals – Access to national and international research journals, magazines, and newspapers.

· Digital Library & E-Resources – Online access to e-books, research papers, databases, and digital repositories.

· Reading Halls – Spacious and well-lit reading areas for students and researchers.

· Reference Services – Assistance in locating and accessing relevant study materials.

· Library Automation – Computerized cataloguing and issue/return system for efficient management.

· Wi-Fi & Internet Access – High-speed internet for research and online learning.

· Reprography Services – Photocopy, printing, and scanning facilities for academic purposes.

· Interlibrary Loan Service – Collaboration with other libraries for resource sharing.

· Book Bank Facility – Special assistance for economically weaker students through book lending schemes.

· E-Alerts & Notifications – Updates on new arrivals, library events, and research opportunities.

  • Library on Mobile- Through the e-Granthalaya app, students can access the library from anywhere.

· ONOS Membership – The library is a member of One Nation One Subscription (ONOS), providing access to a wide range of academic resources.

· E-Granthalaya Integration 4.0 – Fully automated with E-Granthalaya, ensuring efficient digital library management.

· INFLIBNET Facilities – Offers all INFLIBNET services, including e-ShodhSindhu, Shodhganga, and digital repositories for research and learning.
