I. Preamble

Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) is a rural university dedicated to holistic education, rural development, and sustainable growth. The university plays a key role in promoting self-reliance, innovation, and socio-economic development, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This IDP will provide a strategic framework for governance, academic excellence, research, financial sustainability, and community engagement.

II. Social and Academic Mission

Social Mission:

Ensure equitable access to quality higher education for rural students, including Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

  • Foster rural entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency by integrating vocational training.
  • Conduct research and innovation to address rural socio-economic issues.
  • Promote gender parity, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.
  • Strengthen community engagement and rural outreach programs.

Academic Mission:

  • Develop a multidisciplinary curriculum with a rural development focus.
  • Enhance experiential learning through fieldwork, internships, and industry collaborations.
  • Strengthen research capabilities with a focus on sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and rural technology.
  • Equip students with 21st-century skills, including digital literacy, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship.
