Chief Vigilance Officer

The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) plays a crucial role in maintaining integrity and accountability within an organization. Their functions can be broadly categorized into three areas:

  1. Preventive Vigilance – Implementing strategies to minimize the risk of misconduct by reviewing policies, identifying corruption-prone areas, and ensuring transparency in procedures.
  2. Punitive Vigilance – Investigating allegations of misconduct, recommending disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Surveillance and Detection – Monitoring activities to detect unethical practices and taking corrective measures.

The CVO is responsible for fostering a culture of ethical behavior and ensuring that vigilance mechanisms are effectively implemented.
